I created this painting using shades of grey and black, and a bit of white, while preserving the flowing, peaceful feel of water.&nbsp;<br /><br />First, I decided on size.&nbsp; I chose 4' x 3' (48" x 36"), as&nbsp;I was planning a very calming, almost hypnotic painting, and it's the perfect size&nbsp;for a bedroom .<br /><br />Then I stretched and prepped my canvas, while planning my painting.<br /><br />I started painting my background.&nbsp; I used a brush, roller, and a piece of fabric till it looked how I wanted, with darker shades along the bottom and left-hand side.<br /></div> <div><div class="wsite-image wsite-image-border-none " style="padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;margin-left:0;margin-right:0;text-align:center"> <a> <img src="http://www.heatherwisemanart.com/uploads/8/2/8/1/82810010/background_orig.jpg" alt="Picture" style="width:auto;max-width:100%" /> </a> <div style="display:block;font-size:90%"></div> </div></div> <div class="paragraph">Next,&nbsp;I did the black flow, leaving the background showing through 6 circles. 6 is the Feng Shui number associated with water, and circles are metal, which feeds water and makes it more powerful. One large black shape is good to incorporate into a Feng Shui water element painting too, to make it more effective.&nbsp; (Yay me!)<br /><br />After that, I outlined my blocks of colour and started to do the dots. Meticulously.&nbsp; One by one. Perversely using the other end of a small paintbrush. It's so much faster to just paint. But this painting needed those dots.<br /></div> <div><div class="wsite-image wsite-image-border-none " style="padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;margin-left:0;margin-right:0;text-align:center"> <a> <img src="http://www.heatherwisemanart.com/uploads/8/2/8/1/82810010/2_orig.jpg" alt="Picture" style="width:auto;max-width:100%" /> </a> <div style="display:block;font-size:90%"></div> </div></div> <div class="paragraph">Over halfway there...9453 dots so far! And many hours of work already. Starting to come together! I can see how beautiful it's going to be.<br /></div> <div><div class="wsite-image wsite-image-border-none " style="padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;margin-left:0px;margin-right:10px;text-align:left"> <a> <img src="http://www.heatherwisemanart.com/uploads/8/2/8/1/82810010/d0379675-1d74-4966-9bf5-56d73354c573_orig.jpg" alt="Picture" style="width:auto;max-width:100%" /> </a> <div style="display:block;font-size:90%"></div> </div></div> <div class="paragraph">More dots...14542 total!<br />This painting is so peaceful and beautiful.&nbsp; I love how it turned out! <br /></div> <div><div class="wsite-image wsite-image-border-none " style="padding-top:10px;padding-bottom:10px;margin-left:0;margin-right:0;text-align:center"> <a> <img src="http://www.heatherwisemanart.com/uploads/8/2/8/1/82810010/greyscale-dots-side_orig.jpg" alt="Picture" style="width:auto;max-width:100%" /> </a> <div style="display:block;font-size:90%"></div> </div></div> <div class="paragraph">P.S.
